We are getting to the stage of the season where he publicly angles for 8 new players in the transfer window.

Or a contract extension.

Or both.

Probably getting rid of the 'negative' fans.

The same ones as the other deluded fool Evan blames for the club's downfall.

I thought perhaps it is a good way of getting a good mutual agreement settlement.
ie the media and the fans are against me and are not going to change, and if it's easier for you ( Evans) then I'll go.
He can then look like he has done a good job, leaving a team in 3rd place, and get a reasonable next job and say he was treated the same way as Mick.

Either this is part of the campaign against TWTD, or he knows he has to go. I think ME was hinting at us on TWTD in his statement the other day, or maybe I’m a paranoid Scotsman.....?

In all fairness, I hold Bedsheet Rich and his mates responsible for an awful lot of our woes over the past decade.

Probably is.

It seems from the statement that Evans has made and what LON has said recently that the club appear to hold some elements of our fanbase as being extremely negative and the cause of the clubs downfall and this may well be basically Lambert thinking that the club needs rids of these people but he knows that if he comes out and says it then basically it will make things a thousand times worse.

I wonder if Evans has told him the price of publicly backing him is no extra funds in the next transfer window and/or for Jim Henry replacement.

Evans wouldn't be offering up any huge funds whether we are in with a shout or not, we were 2 or 3 good players away from the Premier League 5 years ago and he didn't stump up then, he definitely wont do now. I expect we'll sell a player tbh.

This was just a dig at the press and our fans for the sake of it, it's no deeper than that.

I have this feeling he's picking the team but isn't in charge of a lot

He didn't even know a player had signed a new contract

He's baffled by a player getting Injured on what was supposed to be a relax day

Maybe he's going read the riot act to the board

a niche perspective

I do feel bad for PL in a way. I think he's finally realizing that with ME's financial structure, there's not much of a future, and he's locked into it. Yes, as with MM and all other managers, they should have been savvy enough to realize it before they took the job, and it doesn't excuse his prickliness with the media and his actions toward Phil.

But yeah, my instinct was that was a comment about Marcus.

I was beginning to wonder if PL's turning against us fans like this, similar to MM (albeit dissimilar to the outrageous abuse MM got at one game in particular) was just coincidence, or if the significant factor in common is ME ...

It'd be the height of folly, and reveal complete ineptitude, if he doesn't replace Jim Henry. Cites injuries as a major reason for our poor run of form till today, but insists on our fitness coach wfh 400 miles away. There can be few such perfect examples of a false economy.

I doubt it, can’t see him getting a better job than Ipswich anytime soon, may find a lower L1 team after us, or something in Scotland I guess.

I don’t know what he is edging for, but with him there is always a method behind his madness, in a selfish way.

He's remembered that being more popular than the owner bought him a lucrative new contract before, so he's trying it again. Sadly, he's now even more unpopular than the owner.

I did sense an anger running through PL's post-Oxford presser that gave me the impression it was also something to do with ME.

I don't think Lambert blames the fans, at least not directly or publicly, even he isn't stupid enough to do that. His real enemy is the press (and some fanzines ) for, as he sees it, spreading private information and negativity. This would explain his prickly and moody interviews. Evans on the other hand ...
